It's fairly common to see "how to get a snatched waist" or "the best ab exercises" all over social media. What is frustrating is the majority are misinformed and leading the general population on a quest for rock hard abs while missing the majority of the puzzle.
Our core needs to be trained
To be STRONG! So we need to load them in traditional exercises.
Isometrically. It needs to "stiffen" to reduce/restrict motion (planks/chops/exercises that require you to stabilize the core and avoid motion)
POWERFULLY! We need to move weight fast. Throw medicine balls, include high velocity movements.
Spending your time doing 100 crunches (no load). Neglecting the obliques (because you're scared to "thicken your waist") will get you no where.
